Reductive simple how-to solutions to complex problemsAustralian Environmental Labelling Association Inc
There have been a number of attempts to get this idea off the ground in Australia. This is the latest Australian Ecolabel with all the information you need to get the certification according to the ISO 14020 series of international standards. We have reservations about this kind of approach to sustainability – ecolabels design out consumer thinking, label 'the environment' and can be indiscriminate with little sense for the power of design to shape choice. Some of the country's leading independent sustainability experts are on this panel, however. Ecolabels have been very successful in parts of Europe in helping to develop greener consumer consciousness.
