Greenleaf
Publishing
Greenleaf Publishing is an independent publisher specialising in sustainable
business and eco-design. A useful link to keep up with latest releases
in the field of sustainability and to point your library towards.
Australian
Environmental Labelling Association Inc
There have been a number of attempts to get this idea off the ground in
Australia. This is the latest Australian Ecolabel with all the information
you need to get the certification according to the ISO 14020 series of
international standards. We have reservations about this kind of approach
to sustainability – ecolabels design out consumer thinking, label
'the environment' and can be indiscriminate with little sense for the
power of design to shape choice. Some of the country's leading independent
sustainability experts are on this panel, however. Ecolabels have been
very successful in parts of Europe in helping to develop greener consumer
consciousness.
Online
Ethics
Ethics for science and engineering students covering hot topics such as
genetics and the Environment. There is a page of Environmental Codes of
Practice and Sustainable Development for Engineers. A very comprehensive
site. There is even a section on computer and software ethics including
full text essays.
Ec[o]ncept
Excellent glossary, nicely designed site (in looks and navigation) but
many links go nowhere. Main areas include sustainable design and eco-design
with research and links up to 2000. Most of the useful information is
in the Service section.
