The Machine Room
http://www.machine-room.org
The Machine Room is a huge data base of obsolete computers which is a
fascinating and informative journey over the scrap heap of 'innovative'
techno design. While there are plenty of quips about how the dominance
of IBM ended the life of many a well designed PC, there is no sense of
reflection on the impacts of accelerating obsolescence. Old computers
are just collectables: aestheticised objects of a nostalgic gaze.

Philips
Design

A somewhat annoying Flash intro, however some excellent product-based
resources for the impacts of IT. See for example the report on the Philips/Levis
'intelligent' jacket!

GE Plastics

Loads of information on various plastics, little on environmental impacts.
