This website argues that an ecoefficient product, the result of cleaner production and even zero waste manufacutring, is not yet necessarily a sustainable product. Many 'green products' still promote unsustainable behaviours and perpetuate unsustainable economies. The EcoDesign Foundation is a pathfinding organisation, developing new ways to leap frog into more sustainable cultures and economies. Sustainments' are enterpreneurial product-service relations that create new markets for more sustainable lifestyles and workpractices. Through a network of research projects, educational activities and industry relations, EDF is developing the sorts of products that will change the way we live and work, acting as catalysts for major transformations toward sustainability. The two areas of new product development that EDF is currently focusing on are Dematerialisation and Product Service Systems within D|MAT DESIGN.
