EDF - Ways of Participating

As an intellectual community, Change Design welcomes participation. There are a range of ways of being involved.

Research
Change Design's current project areas are major research projects that require extensive searching and monitoring of a range of information sources. We are looking for help with a variety of research and tracking tasks to build a live resource archive that will be an integral part of these projects.

Contributions can be made at a distance, via email, and at a number of levels of commitment. At the lower end, you could read and report on a monthly publication or monitor a website and provide us with updates on its content. At the higher end, you could do bibliographic searches on particular topics or undertake a whole research project, possibly receiving credit toward a degree program through the Society for Responsible Design.

This is an opportunity to give purpose and ambition to your web or journal browsing and be part of network that can begin to get a bigger picture of the sustainability of the way the world is developing.

Rewards for Volunteer Research Work
In return for your contribution, Change Design will provide you with the following rewards:

3 month Research Volunteership (or 25 hours) — a certificate indicating your research contribution.
6 month Research Volunteership (or 50 hours) — a certificate indicating your research contribution plus a personal reference for research work undertaken from Dr. Cameron Tonkinswise, Director.
9 month Research Volunteership (or 75 hours) — a certificate, a personal reference from Dr. Cameron Tonkinwise and full membership of the Society for Responsible Design.

Anyone interested in our approach to designing change toward more sustainable lifestyles and workpractices should try to participate in some of our events. To be kept up-to-date with Change Design and the Society for Responsible Design events, please contact us.

Membership
As an incorporated non-profit association, membership of the Society for Responsible Design/ Change Design is open to anyone wishing to support or participate in this project. Members annually elect a representative committee to oversee our activities. Members are entitled to:

Tailored research assistance and advice on request
Subscription to our newsletters
Full authorship privileges to the Change Design Weblog

Internships and Employment
Volunteers are welcome to undertake internships with Change Design for nominated periods of time. Change Design will organise a specific project with aspects both you and Change Design can benefit from, and structured by a learning contract. Volunteers are always welcome to assist with our day-to-day operation.
